Immunizations

Vaccines are one of the great public health advances of the 20th century and prevent hundreds of thousands of illnesses in the U.S. every year. Vaccines protect both the person vaccinated and those around them from serious diseases, a concept known as herd immunity.

Herd immunity protects other members of the community, your family, friends and co-workers. Please check with your doctor to make sure you and your family members are up-to-date with all vaccinations, because vaccines are recommended for everyone in the U.S.

The law requires children to receive certain immunizations before they can attend public school or participate in sports or other programs. The Chelsea Department of Public Health offers childhood vaccines every Thursday from 11-12pm and 1-3pm, by appointment. Please see the information below for more details.


Childhood Immunization Program
The free childhood vaccine clinic offers all vaccines needed for school for children ages 5-18 regardless of immigration status.

Flu Clinics
When people with flu, cough or sneeze, the flu virus is in the wet spray that comes out of their nose and mouth. Prevent the spread of respiratory illness.
