Flu

Influenza (flu) is a virus that spreads easily from person to person. When people with flu, cough or sneeze, the flu virus is in the wet spray that comes out of their nose and mouth. The flu virus can also get on objects you touch.

Influenza can be a very serious disease, with complications that can sometimes require hospitalization, or even cause death.

Prevent the spread of respiratory viruses (cold /flu / COVID / RSV) by:

  • Get vaccinated for flu / COVID / RSV.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or use your inner elbow.
  • Wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
  • Stay home when you have symptoms of any respiratory virus.
  • Consider wearing a mask to protect yourself or to protect the people around you.
  • Use a household cleaner to clean objects that are touched often.
  • Avoid crowded areas and maintain physical distance.
  • Increase fresh air.
