Emergency Management
The City of Chelsea Office of Emergency Management (OEM) protects the city by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.
Emergency Dispatchers staff the Emergency Communications Center (ECC), a Division of OEM, where they answer 911 emergency phones, monitor the city fire alarm box system, and maintain round-the-clock radio communications with all Police, Fire, EMS, and DPW units helping field personnel coordinate and manage any possible public safety event or incident.
