CHELSEA PUBLIC LIBRARY |
The Chelsea Public Library is located in the heart of the city in historic Bellingham Square, across from Chelsea City Hall and a block away from the Chelsea campus of Bunker Hill Community College. The current library was built in 1910 as a gift of Andrew Carnegie. It replaced the old library, which had been donated by Eustace C. Fitz, when it was destroyed by the Great Chelsea Fire of 1908, which engulfed nearly half the city.
The Chelsea Public Library seeks to be an integral part of the community. It offers residents access to a wide variety of popular and reference materials, resources, and services to enrich their lives and to expand their personal, cultural and intellectual development. The Trustees and staff work to maintain an environment of intellectual freedom, which welcomes all and satisfies the needs of users of a diverse ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Chelsea Public Library and Bunker Hill Community College, a dynamic partnership.. The Chelsea Public Library Servers as a tangible Link between Bunker Hill Community College's Chelsea Campus and the Chelsea community.
In October 2008, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Began administering a new set of questions for the naturalization exam.
