The Chelsea Police department relies on information from sources within the community in order to provide effective services to its residents, We understand that the fear of direct involvement may affect a citizen’s willingness to participate in solving a crime. For these reasons we have created an automated confidential Crime Tip Hotline.
The Crime Tip Hotline is available 24/7. All callers should provide as much detailed information as possible. Although the Crime Tip Hotline provides for confidential reporting, all callers are encouraged (but not required) to leave their name and phone number in the event an investigator has additional questions. Your information may be vital in solving a crime.
The Crime Tip Hotline should not be used for crimes requiring an immediate police response
Citizens are encouraged to call 9-1-1 in the event of all emergencies
