Lieutenant Edward Noseworthy Jr.

ENoseworthy.jpgLieutenant Noseworthy was appointed a Chelsea Police Officer on September 17, 1984 and graduated the Massachusetts State Police Academy for Municipal Officers in December of 1984. He served as a patrol officer and a motorcycle patrol officer for two years. In 1986 he was assigned to the Chelsea Police Drug Unit and for most of the next twelve years he was involved in drug investigations, as a detective and a detective sergeant in the city of Chelsea and surrounding communities. He has been deputized as a federal agent and has worked on Drug Task Forces with the FBI, DEA, ATF and MSP. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant on October 31, 1989 and was assigned as a patrol sergeant for two years before returning to the drug unit.  He has received training from the Massachusetts State Police, DEA, International Criminal Justice Services and the US Army for Advanced Narcotics Investigations, Drug Raids, Vehicle and Building Assault Tactics, Crack Cocaine Enforcement and Advanced Weapons Handling.

In February 10, 2003 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and was assigned to the patrol division as a shift supervisor for four years. In February of 2007 he was assigned as the Internal Affairs Investigator for the Chelsea Police Department and is currently serving in that capacity.

Lieutenant Noseworthy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Curry College. During his career he has been trained in the following aspects of Law Enforcement: Motorcycle Operation and Enforcement, Drug Law Enforcement, Confidential Informant Handling, Spanish for Law Enforcement, Sergeant’s Basic Training, Law Enforcement Ethics, Labor Relations, Implementing Discipline, Critical Incident Response, Polygraph Law, Officer Involved Shootings, Management Rights, Internal Affairs Legal Issues, Police Background Investigations and Sexual Harassment Investigations.
