Chelsea and State Police Detectives in Georgia to Take Custody of Murder Suspect
Friday – Chelsea and State Police Detectives are in Savannah Georgia today to take custody of Jonathan Carvalho, age 21 on an arrest warrant for Murder. Carvalho fled the state after the shooting death of Luis Rodriguez, age 29 on Tuesday afternoon. The afternoon shooting occurred in front of 230 Central Ave. State and Chelsea Detectives quickly developed probable cause to secure the arrest warrant out of Chelsea District Court for Murder. A nationwide police BOLO was posted and Savannah Georgia Police arrested Carvalho without incident at a bus terminal early Wednesday morning.
Carvalho waived rendition proceedings in Georgia which cleared the way for investigators to return him to face charges in Chelsea. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Chelsea District Court.
