Police Make Arrest in Central Ave. Homicide
Thursday – Chief Brian A. Kyes announced today that police in Savannah Georgia arrested Jonathan Carvalho, age 21 of Chelsea for the shooting death of 29 year old Luis Rodriguez also of Chelsea. Luis Rodriguez was shot multiple times on Tuesday in front of 230 Central Ave. Carvalho was arrested by Georgia authorities without incident at a bus terminal at 2:00 AM this morning.
Chief Kyes stated “The assistance and cooperation that we received from many community members was exceptional. The investigation that followed this tragic event is truly a great example of community policing in practice at its best”
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office is now working with Georgia officials in rendition proceedings to bring Carvalho back to Chelsea to face Murder charges in Chelsea District Court.
