Two Construction Workers Injured in Bellingham Square Accident
Wednesday 9:43AM – Chelsea and Federal OSHA officials are investigating a morning accident that injured two construction workers at a Bellingham Square worksite. Police report that two workers of Tuffs Incorporated of Medford were working below street level in an excavated worksite when their equipment came into contact with an electrical line causing an explosion. Both workers were pulled from the site and escaped serious injury. One of the injured, a fifty year old male of Everett was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, his injuries were not reported to be life threatening. The second injured worker a twenty seven year old from Everett was treated at the scene. Chelsea Police state that this busy section of downtown will be closed until the worksite is cleared and asks motorists to avoid the area or follow the
posted detour.
