Police Escapee Captured in Boston
Tuesday – The US Marshal Service and Boston Police acting on a credible tip that was received Monday morning by Chelsea Police Detectives arrested Joel McDonald, age 20 of Chelsea last night in a Dorchester apartment. McDonald was able to evade a Chelsea Officer while being transported from police custody to Chelsea District Court on April 22nd. McDonald was being held in connection with a January 21st, 2010 shooting in Chelsea where he is facing multiple charges including, Assault with Intent to Murder.
Brian A. Kyes praised the cooperative effort by local, state and federal authorities who worked tirelessly on apprehending McDonald. He added “The US Marshal Service Fugitive Unit’s persistence left no doubt that his arrest was only a matter of time”
McDonald will be arraigned today in Chelsea District Court.
