Chelsea Police Announce New Community Alert Network Safety Initiative

The Chelsea Police Department is launching The Community Alert Network, a new interactive way to keep the Community connected and informed through optional e-mail or text message public safety alerts. The new initiative will expand on the current Text-A-Tip program which enables the public to report suspicious activities anonymously through their cell phone or computer.

Interested persons can sign up for The Community Alert Network via a dedicated web page link on the Police Department Web site, www.chelseapolice.com Through this web site, Chelsea Police will provide information to help maintain and improve community safety. Subscribers can sign up to receive alerts from the Police Department via e-mail or as a text message to a cell phone.

According to Chief Brian A. Kyes, “This new community interactive feature brings the police, citizens and businesses together in a united crime prevention partnership” He added, “The need and ability to share accurate information is paramount and the alert network will be the conduit to connect the police with Chelsea residents and business owners in addressing public safety issues in a timely manner”.

For more information on the Alert Network, please contact Captain Keith Houghton at 617-466-4835.
