Chelsea Police Department Investigating Grove Street Shooting
Saturday October 24th – The Chelsea Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a shooting that occurred at 3:00pm in front of 24 Grove Street. Officers responded to that location and observed a 30 year old Chelsea resident suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers and EMS personnel administered medical aid to the victim who was later transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he is listed in stable condition after surgery.
Chelsea Detectives are investigating the circumstances that led up the attack. Reports from witnesses indicate the victim knew his assailant and was shot after an argument in front of 24 Grove Street. Witnesses also report that the suspect fled the area immediately on foot. Chelsea Detectives are following several leads and are confident that the suspect will be identified and apprehended.
