Chelsea Police Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
(CHELSEA) – The Chelsea Police Traffic Division is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday August 29th. At approximately 6:00 PM, officers responded to a report of an accident in which a pick-up truck struck a wall near 1 Broadway. Upon arrival responding officers observed the vehicle with heavy front-end damage and a male operator pinned in the vehicle. The operator Alex A Ventura age 18 of Chelsea was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Traffic Division is investigating the circumstances that led up to the collision. Their preliminary findings indicate the operator failed to stop at stop sign and then proceeded across the intersection and collided with a concrete wall. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of the vehicle braking and
the operator was not wearing a seat belt at the time of impact. The Chelsea Police Traffic Division and Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team are continuing the investigation.
