City of Chelsea, MA - Law Department

The Law Department represents and protects the interests of the City of Chelsea by providing accurate and timely legal advice to all elected and appointed officials, multiple-member bodies and agencies of the City, to ensure that municipal decisions are made in conformance by appropriate legal authority. The Law Department strives to decrease the potential liabilities and related risks of the City by concentrating on preventative action including early program intervention and the constant review and examination of the legal claims filed against the City. In addition, the Law Department provides representation for the City in legislative, judicial and administrative proceedings involving the City, its officers and agencies.
