The Chelsea Fire Department Hazardous Materials Division goal is to facilitate a professional, courteous, safe and efficient response to incidents involving hazardous materials at locations within the borders of Chelsea, to the contiguous surrounding cities and towns and any other location requested by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The Chelsea Fire Department Hazardous Materials Division coordinates with the local emergency response community to protect the life safety of emergency responders and the general public. The Chelsea Fire Department Hazardous Materials Division shall further work to protect the environment and property in Chelsea from any toxic substance released accidentally or purposefully.
The goals of the Chelsea Fire Department Hazardous Materials Division are to preserve life, stabilize the scene, and protect public and private properties.
