Marilyn Vega-Torres was elected to Chelsea City Council for her first term in 2006. She has pledge to advocate for the best interest of her constituents in her district and the City of Chelsea in general. Councilor Vega-Torres is working diligently on Environmental, Public Safety, Education issues and promoting polices and procedures.
Councilor Vega-Torres currently holds membership to the following City Council Sub-Committees: Rules & Ordinances, Public Health, Education & Training, Inter-Governmental Affairs, & Inspectional Services. In addition to these committees, she is an active member of several non-profit, professional and private organizations.
Born in City of Boston and raised in Chelsea-District 6 her entire life, Councilor Vega-Torres attended all of the Chelsea Public Schools. Graduating from Chelsea High School in 1991. Graduated from Lesley College in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management. Her professional background is in Real Estate and Property Management. She is the single parent of two young children who attend the Chelsea Public Schools.
Councilor Vega-Torres plans on running for second term in the fall and hopes to continue working hard for her fellow residents and promoting a better future for the City of Chelsea.
